Zeny Farming Guide

This guide covers beginner-friendly methods to earn zeny consistently on a Renewal server running episode 17.2. All methods focus on farming tradeable items that have steady player demand.

Core Concept

The basic zeny loop in Renewal is simple:

  1. Kill monsters that drop tradeable items
  2. Sell those items via your personal vending shop or directly to other players
  3. Reinvest zeny into better gear to farm faster

The key is choosing monsters whose drops are in constant demand — consumables, crafting materials, and equipment components that every player needs regardless of progression stage.

Method 1: Sleeper Farming + Great Nature Splitting

Overview

Sleepers are Earth-element monsters that drop Great Nature — a level 3 elemental stone used in crafting and enchanting recipes. This is one of the most accessible farming methods because the map is low-risk, any AoE class can clear it efficiently, and Great Nature has reliable, consistent demand.

Location

Field Map ID Notes
Einbroch Field 04 ein_fild04 Primary Sleeper spawn, easy access from Einbroch
Thor Volcano thor_v01 Alternative location, higher mob density
  • High Wizard / Warlock — wide AoE, clears clusters in one cast
  • Ranger — Arrow Storm covers large areas
  • Creator / Genetic — Cart Cannon for reliable AoE damage

Step-by-Step

  1. Travel to ein_fild04 (warp from Einbroch)
  2. Use AoE skills to kill Sleeper groups; they have low HP and no dangerous skills
  3. Loot all Great Nature drops; also pick up Garlets and Cyfar as bonus vendor trash
  4. Before selling, check the current market price for Great Nature
    • If the price is high → sell Great Nature whole to players
    • If the price is low → bring Great Natures to the Stone Refiner NPC and split them into smaller elemental stones for potentially better total value
  5. Set up a vending shop in a busy town (Prontera main square or your server's market hub) and price slightly below the current market rate to sell quickly

Great Nature Splitting

Great Nature can be broken down into multiple smaller elemental stones via the Stone Refiner NPC. The profitability of splitting versus selling whole depends entirely on current server prices — check both before deciding.

Expected Loot

Item Sell To Notes
Great Nature Players (vending) Core drop, steady demand
Garlet NPC Small but adds up over time
Cyfar Players or NPC Crafting material, check player demand
Wind of Verdure Players Occasional drop, decent value. Used by NPC Enchanter

Method 2: Geffenia Farming — Rings

Overview

Geffenia is one of the classic high-value farming zones in Ragnarok Online. The monsters here — Violies, Abysmal Knights, and Incubi — drop Ring[1] and Clip[1], which are BIS accessories for many mid-game builds. They also drop Bloody Rune and Yellow Bijou, both of which have consistent player and crafting demand.

Prerequisites

  • A character capable of one-shotting or near-one-shotting mobs
  • Holy-element weapon or Holy Water-enchanted weapon for elemental advantage against Undead/Demon types
  • Sufficient HP and survivability — mobs in Geffenia can kill unsuspecting players quickly

Location

Map Map ID Mob Focus
Geffenia 01 gefenia01 Violies, general loot
Geffenia 02 gefenia02 Abysmal Knights, Rings
Geffenia 03 gefenia03 Incubus / Succubus, Clips
Geffenia 04 gefenia04 Mixed, high density

General Tips for Any Farming Method

  • Dedicated vending character — never vendor from your farming character. Park a separate alt in town with a shop so you can farm uninterrupted.
  • Monitor the market — check the server's player economy channel or vending search regularly. Demand shifts after patches, events, and content updates.
  • Use BubblegumBubblegum (+50% item drop rate), use it during active farm sessions to maximize returns.
  • Price smart — if demand is high, price at market rate, not below it. Undercutting yourself costs zeny for no reason.
  • Session length — short focused sessions with active selling are more efficient than long sessions where your inventory sits unsold.
